GOLF SIMULATORS - COMPONENTS

Launch Monitor - Infrared Cameras:
Infrared cameras generate a high number of frames of the golf club and the golf ball during the swing of each golf shot. These images are processed in almost real time by computer algorithms to calculate the flight curve of the golf ball. The basis for the calculation of the trajectory of the golf ball is the ball- and club data determined from the frames. (Ball- and club head speed, backspin, start angle, lateral deviation, swing path, club face position, etc.)
Floor/golf lawn:
The first-class and multi-layer structure of our floor ensures that you stand like on a golf course – comfortable, firm and safe!

A 100x100 cm hitting mat, from which you can play with regular tees, provides further comfort. If the hitting mat one day shows signs of wear, it can be easily renewed.

Cabin:
A sturdy cabin frame made of aluminum profiles, which is ideally screwed to a wall, ensures that the vibrations caused by firmly hit golf balls are optimally absorbed and that there can be no deformation of the frame. This aluminium frame can be supplied in any colour.
All TEE-01 TBX Golf Simulator cabins are produced in our facility in Leobersdorf using high quality and stable materials. Our cabins can be manufactured in standard sizes or according to individual customer requirements.

Our primary parameters are quality, stability, safety and aesthetics. The golfer should simply feel comfortable in the cabin and be able to concentrate 100% on his or her game. The fun factor of playing simulator golf is very important to us!

The screen:
is a very important part of a golf simulator. It must:
  • withstand the impact of golf balls at over 200 km/h permanently
  • absorb the impact well enough that the balls do not bounce back
  • spread the impact forces evenly over the entire surface so that no dents occur in the texture
  • have a surface that allows a very good representation of the images projected on it

PC and Touch Screen:
  • A powerful PC that enables live rendering. When the player looks at the screen after hitting a shot, the ball must already be in flight. Any delay over 500 milliseconds becomes visible and disturbing.
  • A 27-inch touch screen for user-friendly operation. The investment in a larger e.g., 32 inch touch screen is always worthwhile.
  • A media center and a surround speaker system are only needed if you want to use the simulator as a home cinema. This is absolutely recommended!

An Internet connection as strong as possible for remote maintenance or participation in Internet golf tournaments is mandatory.

Sound System / Speakers:
Even if you do not use the Golf Simulator as a home cinema, a good loudspeaker system is recommended, because the software for playing on golf courses produces sound, which can also occur on the real golf course in such places:

  • The sound of  waves, e.g. when you play very close to the coast
  • The flowing water of a stream when you get close
  • Animal sounds (birds, frogs, etc.)
Beamer:
You should not save on the beamer. A good powerful beamer creates exactly that mood in the simulator box that makes you forget where you really are. You feel like you're playing on a real golf course.

Golf Course Library:
The Launch Monitor of the Golf Simulator captures all ball and club head data. From this data, the ball flight is calculated. This data is then transferred to software that visualizes the game of golf. This software always knows on where the ball of a player is on the golf course. From this point, the ball flight is projected onto the golf course and the ball then comes to rest at the landing point. So that it does not become too easy, attention must also be paid to where the ball (state of the ground at the landing point) hits the ground, or in which landing angle and at what speed and with which back-spin the ball lands. Only then can the distance that the ball rolls after landing be calculated exactly. If the ball is played from a difficult terrain, the ball flight curve can optionally be adjusted again.

To play golf in a simulator you need one or more golf courses. Such virtual golf courses are modeled with the help of geo-data and a 3D graphics software and then made available to the customer in a library. In the picture on the left you can see the photo (unfortunately in autumn with leafless trees) of a real golf course, while the lower photo shows the 3D computer model for the same place. This lower image is exactly how the golf course shows up when playing in the simulator. The weather – clear skies, slightly cloudy, cloudy, rain, fog – can be set for the 3D model on the computer.
Safety:
The topic of safety must not be neglected, especially if strangers play in your simulator, or if you rent it out.

Therefore, topics such as a safe screen and cushioning all-round cladding (right, left and top) of the simulator box are of great importance. Foam pads, which are mounted around the screen, protect against rebounding balls in the event of failure.

Unless you consciously use a radar-based launch monitor, the TEE-01 TBX boxes are absolutely radiation-free.

Simulators Tees:
In our TEE-01 simulators you can use all variaty of tees.

Regular plug-in tees made of wood or plastic ...

... and also Winter-Tees

Pull-up & Push-down Tees:
We recommend – if technically possible, as drilling into the ground must be done – the use of our enormously stable and flexible "Pull-up & Push-down" tees.
Bild
Video swing analysis:
2 cameras are set up, which record the player swinging from the front on and down the line. If you want to support left- and right-handed golfers you will need 3 cameras.

After every shot you can look at the swing in slow motion and easily recognize any errors.

You can watch exactly how this works in the video on this page.

Home Theater:
A TBX Golf Simulator already has most of the features necessary for a home theater:

  • Large Screen
  • Surround Sound System
  • High-resolution projector
  • Media Center

Therefore, only the access to the medium is missing:
  • SAT or cable TV tuner
  • Blue Ray drive on a PC or individual player
  • Access to a streaming service

And you're ready to go!
